Horrorpops vs Barbie

Horror Pops singer Patricia Day is suing Mattel over her claims that they’ve used her image without consent for their new Hard Rock Barbie.
The Danish singer claims that they have appropriated her likeness of “long black hair, retro tattoos, red fingernails, fishnets and a decorated bass fiddle to give this doll true rockabilly style.”
She filed the lawsuit last week in Indiana District Court, saying that the toy company got licenses from Debbie Harry, Joan Jett and Cyndi Lauper for their other dolls in the collection, but didn’t get her permission for their Hard Rock Barbie.
If it weren’t for the bass fiddle, I would say that they could’ve used anyone for their portrayal of their Hard Rock Barbie. But, because there is that added accessory, she may just have a case.
Someone’s gonna be gettin’ paid! What do you think?

Western Tattoos

The western traditional style of tattooing—marked by thick outlines and heavy black shading—is often viewed in one of two ways; as a genre of work, like black and grey or neo-modern, or as a historical reference point to the origins of the electric era.

"Western Traditional is an iconic style. Like in early medieval art where the meaning of an image carries more weight than its faithful representation of reality. Old School style is a distillation of what we see in the natural world,”

J.D. O’Kelly, Electric City Tattoo
